We are committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors. That is why we would like to inform you right away that you can purchase tickets without providing any personal information. You can do this by purchasing tickets (or having someone purchase them for you) at the ticket and information desk. We also offer the option to purchase a ticket through our website with only a very limited amount of personal information required.
If we use your personal data in our future communications with you, we will handle it with care. We process this data in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this privacy statement, we explain what information we collect from you, for what purpose, how long we retain it, and what your rights are.
Privacy
We may process personal data when offering products and services. This includes the following products and services:
- Introduction
- Newsletter
- Classes and courses (e.g., Luxor Musical Academy)
- Customer account
- Ambassador Program
- Website
- Product sales (e.g., merchandise)
- Dinner sales
- Visitor Survey
The type and scope of the personal data we process vary by product or service. This may include your name, address, city, age, phone number, email address, and IP address. If you would like a complete overview of your data, you can submit a request for access (see below: What are my rights?).
We sometimes take photos or record video footage of performances. You may be recognizable in these images. We use this visual material solely for informational and promotional purposes. It is usually not possible to ask for your consent before publication. If you object to being recognizable in the images, you can let the photographer know before the performance begins. We will then do our best to respect your privacy (see below: What are my rights?)
Sometimes, video recordings are made of a performance for TV broadcasts, in which you may be recognizable. We will announce this in advance during ticket sales. We are not otherwise involved in the recordings and therefore cannot guarantee your privacy rights.
We process only the information about you that is necessary to:
- Enter into a contract for a product or service (e.g., selling a ticket for a performance);
- Perform the agreed-upon service or deliver a product (e.g., service emails regarding the performance);
- Inform you about our (other) products or services (e.g., our general newsletter) and tailor this information as closely as possible to your interests and personal preferences (e.g., targeted offers via email or phone);
- To inform you (or have you informed) about products from other providers whose performances you have seen at our theater;
- To enable you to use our website, to analyze website traffic, for the use of social media networks, and for marketing purposes. Please refer to our cookie policy (see below);
- To conduct market research, to develop products and services, and for other purposes related to general business operations;
- To comply with the laws and regulations applicable to us.
We will only send you information about our services or products if you have purchased a service or product from the Luxor Theater. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails, through your account, or by sending an email to kassa@luxortheater.nl.
We may combine the customer data you provide to create a customer profile. When you create an account, purchase a ticket, or otherwise provide data, we may combine this information. For example, your age, gender, ZIP code, type of performance, tickets purchased, amount spent, and online usage information from your website visits. We do this to gain insight into our customer base and to offer our products and services in a more targeted manner.
If you object to this, there are several options available (see below: What are my rights?)
We do not retain your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes of processing.
We will delete your personal data if you have not purchased a ticket from us, otherwise purchased a product or service from us, or visited our website for five years. We clean up our customer database once a year. As a result, your data may not be deleted immediately after three years of inactivity.
If you have indicated that you wish to receive our email newsletters, we will retain your data until you unsubscribe.
After the objection period has expired, your personal data will be deleted from our systems. The data will then be used exclusively in anonymized form for purposes such as market research, product and service development, and other purposes related to general business operations.
When you purchase or reserve tickets for the restaurants Vista Restobar, Jaq, and/or O’Pazzo, these restaurants receive limited personal data and the number of seats booked, so they can contact you if necessary. This data is deleted by the restaurant after your visit.
In some cases, we may share your information (title, first name, last name, email address) with the partner(s) organizing the event, performance, or concert for which you purchased tickets. We do this because these partner(s) want to be able to contact you to: provide you with information regarding the performance you are attending and offer you promotions for similar performances. We enter into detailed agreements with the relevant partners to ensure due care is taken. If you object to this, there are several options (see below: What are my rights?).

Rotterdam Festivals conducts analyses of visitors to cultural institutions in Rotterdam on behalf of the City of Rotterdam. Every cultural institution in Rotterdam is required to make its data available in anonymized form for this purpose.
In accordance with the requirements of the GDPR, we have implemented technical and organizational security measures to protect the data we hold against loss or unauthorized processing. Your data will be treated confidentially and stored on secure servers.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is placed on or read from your device during your visit to our website. This text file is used to store or retrieve data, which may include personal data. Based on this (personal) data, you may be recognized during a subsequent visit. We use the following types of cookies on our website.
