No, that’s not allowed. However, every child must always have a ticket.
Babies are not allowed in the theater. Our youth and family performances have a minimum age requirement. Theater producers have created these performances specifically for children of the specified age and older. The content of theater performances may not be appropriate for certain age groups.
In addition, a baby may disturb other audience members.
Our performances are suitable for (young) adults ages 16 and up, unless otherwise noted. If a performance is specifically suited for younger audiences, a recommended age will be listed.
We recommend that children under 16 always attend the performance with an adult.
You can find more information about the seating arrangement and which seats are best to book on this page.
There are two balconies at the Nieuwe Luxor. The second balcony is quite high, and the stairs are steep. If you’re afraid of heights, we advise against booking tickets for these seats.
At the Old Luxor, the seats in rows 1 and 15 have the most legroom. At the New Luxor, those are rows 1 and 11.
Questions about the performance
Due to heavy traffic in the city, we recommend that you use public transportation to get to Luxor whenever possible. Read more here about how to get here and parking options.
The theater opens one hour before the performance begins. The time when the theater doors open varies by performance.
In both the Old and New Luxor, you can check your coat and/or bag with our theater staff. This service is free of charge.
This isn’t necessary. You can show your tickets on your cell phone. To ensure a smooth process at the ticket checkpoint, we’d appreciate it if you had your (mobile) tickets ready when you enter the theater.
There is a possibility that the artist or company will not allow latecomers into the auditorium once the performance has begun. In the unlikely event that you are late, we will see what can be done. If you are permitted to enter the theater at a later time, one of our theater staff members will wait for a suitable moment. Good to know: This may not be until after intermission.
If there is no intermission during the performance, you may not be able to enter the auditorium at all. You may also be asked to sit in a seat other than the one you booked. In that case, you can take your own seat after the intermission.
We have booster seats so that our young visitors can see the entire performance. Please ask one of our staff members about them. They’ll be happy to help you.
No, you are not allowed to take photos, make video recordings, or record audio in the theater.
Not every performance has an intermission. As soon as the end times are known, you’ll find them on the performance’s page. You’ll also receive a service email two days before your visit with all the practical information. This email will also include the intermission and end times.
A few days before your visit begins, you’ll receive a service email containing all the practical information.
