De songs van Roi Soleil gaan over zelfliefde, seksualiteit en identiteit en schieten tussen dansbare elektropop en grootste pop anthems. Muzikaal laat hij zich inspireren door acts als Oscar and the Wolf, Mika, Yelle, Stromae en Troye Sivan.

Roi Soleil is de superhelden versie van Matthijs, een Brabantse puber met problemen die hij wil oplossen door een kroon (van tie-wraps) op zijn hoofd te zetten. OUI, hij is van goud, maar hij is hier om te laten weten dat jij dat ook absoluut bent. Op zijn barokke vleugels mikt hij op nooit minder dan douze points en een deelname aan het Eurovisie Songfestival. Allez c’est parti!

The Roi Soleil repertoires talks about (self)love, sexuality and identity and fluctuates between danceable electropop and epic pop anthems. Musically he’s inspired by acts such as Oscar and the Wolf, Mika, Yelle, Stromae and Troye Sivan.

Roi Soleil is the superhero version of Matthijs, a small town boy with teenager trauma that he is trying to fix by putting a golden crown (made of tie-wraps) on his head. OUI, he is made of gold but he’s here to let you know that everyone is. On his baroque wings he wants to enlighten his audience and will always be aiming for the Eurovision Song Contest.
